I was pretty excited today as I was reading through my normal list of blogs to see my products in use over at the Renaissance Woodworker's shop. Shannon Rogers' "Chips 'n Tips" feature has become one of my favorites. He provides a quick look at a useful tool or technique, usually just a few minutes long. The videos are informative and straight to the point. Today he covered the use of gimlets, focusing on the modern offerings from Lee Valley. I've been looking at picking up a set of these for my own use, having Shannon's seal of approval just gave me the nudge I needed to pull the trigger on them! You can read the post and view the video here. In the video, Shannon is not only sporting the trendiest of shop wear, he also whips out his custom Texas Heritage Auger Bit Roll. He contacted me a while back, in need of protection for his ever growing collection of bits. His roll features 15 deep slots for regular bits and an additional 15 short slots for his spoon bits and gimlet bits. Our normal rolls have 15 regular slots and 5 shorter slots for accessories. We do have several of these in stock and ready to ship. Order one now to get it in time for Christmas!
